Get rid of clutter starting today!

If your life is anything like mine, you probably get a ton of junk mail each week. You probably have paid bill receipts, scraps of paper with phone numbers on them, and imcomplete to-do lists lying around too.

It may seem impossible to be able to clear the tops of your desk or dresser, but it IS possible if you tackle it a little at a time.

Try dedicating 15 minutes a day for getting rid of junk mail and filing paid bill receipts.

To start off, if you don't already have a filing cabinet or large box to keep your bills organized, get one today! Organize your bills in alphabetical order using manila folders that you can get from Staples or Office Depot. The folders usually come in boxes of about 100 each, so you will have plenty of folders to help you organize your stuff.

Use labels to identify each folder (labels like GAS, ELECTRIC, WATER, HEALTH INSURANCE, PHONE, pet BILLS, CAR LOANS, etc.). Staple cancelled checks to the back of bills so that you can easily locate them if you need them later.

Keep a phone log next to your telephone so that you do not have to spend time looking for that scrap of paper or the back of the envelope that you wrote Joe's phone number on. Phone numbers can be easily located when you really need them.

As far as to-do lists, break big projects up into little, manageable ones, and you will be able to accomplish more. Instead of writing down something like "PAINT HOUSE", break it down into smaller tasks like "PAINT KITCHEN" or "PAINT BANNISTER". Instead of writing down "CLEAN YARD", you could write "MOW LAWN" and "RAKE LEAVES" and "PAINT FENCE',  (you see what I mean?).

If you really make it a point to set aside at least 15 minutes out of everyday for organization, before long, you will get rid of that clutter. You will also save many, many hours wasted on looking for things.

Get back to living -- rid your life of clutter starting today!
